Bring Project Compassion to life in your diocese

Every year during Lent, Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion calls us to Unite Against Poverty and create real, lasting change for vulnerable communities around the world.

As a Diocesan Director, you play a vital role in bringing Project Compassion to life, inspiring and empowering schools, parishes, community groups and more to get involved and turn their compassion into action.

Find out more about how you can help make Project Compassion 2026 our biggest and most impactful yet...

Your compassion in action

Meet Sisilia

Sisilia is a 13-year-old girl living in remote Tanzania, who had to walk long distances to collect water every day. Thanks to Project Compassion, Sisilia’s school and village now have safe clean water close by and she can spend more time studying so she can fulfil her dreams of one day becoming a pilot.

Meet Monoranjon

Monoranjon lives in a coastal village in Bangladesh, where floods and storms often damage his crops and his home. With support from Project Compassion, he learnt climate-resilient farming techniques and new ways to diversify his income, helping his family survive and build a safer, more sustainable future.

Meet Manaini

Life was hard for Manaini and her children living in rural Fiji. With the support from Caritas Australia’s partner, FRIEND, she learnt food processing and gardening skills, improving nutrition and creating new income opportunities to support her children’s education.

Meet Ahmad

Ahmad, a Caritas Jerusalem staff member in Gaza, has endured repeated displacement since October 2023. Despite the daily devastation he encounters, Ahmad continues to serve families through Caritas’ emergency response.
