We're Standing in Solidarity with refugees this Lent
The Year 5s will be participating in a fundraising event called ‘Walk In My Shoes’. In Literacy, Discovery and Religion we have been learning about the governments in different countries and how some people are forced to leave their countries because of danger they face from war or the actions of their own government. These people are called refugees. At times, these people are forced to pack their belongings and leave their country, often walking for hours to seek safety and refuge. Today the Year 5s have packed their backpacks and we will be walking around the oval carrying them for around 90 minutes. Some of us are being sponsored by our families and friends for each lap we walk. We also thank you for bringing your gold coin donation today to support our cause. All money we raise will go to Caritas who work tirelessly with refugees around the world.
Thank you
