Lourdes House is Uniting Against Poverty this Lent by taking part in Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion.
Hello everyone!
We are your Year 12 Lourdes House Captains, Bani and Olivia.
In 2026, we're taking part in Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion. This is an initiative that empowers and supports vulnerable communities who are experiencing poverty. Through this project, we will come together as a community to turn our collective goodwill into lasting change.
Lourdes is an important pilgrimage site in France where Our Lady, Mary, appeared to a young girl. The water from a spring at Lourdes is said to have miraculous healing properties, with people travelling to this sacred site to receive healing. On our House banner there is a cross to show our connection to Our Lady, Mary, to Jesus and a Jewish letter which represents water which is seen as offering replenishment and vitality of life.
We are so excited to be part of such an amazing opportunity and to display our commitment to justice. We are looking for your support in this! We know our enthusiastic Lourdes community will go above and beyond to achieve our goal and assist those in need!!
Our Goal is to raise $1500 for Project Compassion.
