Caritas Australia - Madelyne Finn

Every day, 292 million people around the world walk more than 30 minutes to collect water. This Lent, as part of Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion, I’ll be walking with them.

I will be lacing up my sneakers and taking on The Long Walk for Water to help provide safe, clean water for people in need. With every step I take, I’ll be making real, lasting change for vulnerable communities all over the world. I’ll also be sharing the journey along with everyone else, step by step, so we can reflect, experience, and make a difference together.

As Jesus reminds us:

“You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world. Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:13-16)

Each step I take is an act of love, hope, and justice — a small way to shine a light and bring life to others.
